Meet the Council

Civic is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion across our stakeholder community: within our company, extended partner network and in collaboration with our clients. The DEI Council is an employee-led group that advises and collaborates with the People Team and Senior Leadership to advance this commitment.

Areas of Focus

Each DEI Council Subcommittee is focused on the following actions and initiatives for 2024:


Belonging

  • Maintain and evolve of Civic’s Employee Resource Groups

  • Improve employee retention through mentorship

  • Complete and maintain agency-wide Safe Space Certification

  • Collaborate with People Team on Bias Response Form and procedures


Pipeline

  • Improve Civic’s diverse talent acquisition at all levels, including interns

  • Continue development and adoption of diverse supplier roster and vendor database


Education & Awareness

  • Continue annual training series (e.g. bias, allyship and intervention)

  • Manage company-wide comms tied to key DEI moments (e.g. voting, celebrating cultural heritage months, navigating current events)

  • Maintain internal Civic DEI Council Resource Hub
